September 24th, 2008    Chris will be playing some solo shows at orphanages, prisons and mental hospitals in the Caribbean islands early next month. To help fund the trip, Axis of Conversation is playing a benefit concert at the The Dream Centre in Calgary (4510 MacLeod Tr SW) on Sunday September 28th. Email us for more details. Hope to see you there!

June 24th, 2008    We are now working with Plunge Records, who is re-launching 'Delusions of Safety' this summer. They will distribute our album in Canada through Warner Bros and in Japan through GATS. We're also hoping to release a new single by the end of the year, but we'll see about that. :) Visit plungerecords.com We're also in the midst of finalizing our summer tour, getting tshirts made through branders.com and redesigning our website. Check back often in the next little while. CdT

March 14th, 2008    Thanks to everyone who came to hear 'The Panda and The Rat' at Broken City and The Liberty Lounge last week. It turns out we like it too much to let it become a distant memory -- expect to hear it in some shape or form in the future (a 'Panda and The Rat' record? hmmm...). And there's a very fine article by Jesse Locke of the Calgary Sun about our 35-minute pseudo-instrumental animal instinct workout in the Press section. You might be hearing us in some weird places in the coming months. The other night, Eric and Cheryl and I recorded an ad-hoc podcast promo for the Steamwhistle Unsigned show on March 28th @ The Palomino. We're pretty excited for this - all proceeds go to EAR, which helps struggling musicians afford health care. And we get free, awesome beer. You can hear our stupid promo (along with 'They Can See Your Ghost' and 'Readymade Heart Attack') very soon on the Steamwhistle Podcast. Also, our apologies if you tuned into CJSW FM this week in hopes of hearing us doing a live session, only to be sadly (or mildly) dissappointed. The CJSW folks had to reschedule our appearance thanks to staffing issues. The good news is you can catch us on the March 27 edition of 'Pillage Village/Failed Pilot' at 1-2pm. We'll play a few (new?) tunes and do an in-depth interview with Spencer 'The Colonol' Brown. He's the next Jian Ghomeshi, you know. And yes, that's the day before we play That Empty Space with Azeda Booth in the afternoon before playing The Palomino that night. And as I'm sure you've heard, the Junos are coming to town. As such, I've been asked by the folks behind the Music Lives Here initiative to blog on their website about anything I want. Do check it out at musicliveshere.ca . I've only written one so far -- I've been a bit busy lately with shows and, um, major life changes. And be sure to head to The Republik on Juno weekend - you'll find us there Saturday, April 5th. We hope to see you at one of our many shows this month - it might be your last chance for a long, long while - unless of course you live in a western Canadian city other than Calgary -- we'll be seeing you this summer. :) CdT
